Room Bookings and Facility Rentals

CLMA is a central and welcoming meeting space for gathering. We offer meeting room bookings in Bowmanville, Courtice, and Newcastle Libraries and facility and grounds rentals at the Waverley Place Museum for a fee as space is available. The primary purpose of facility rentals is to provide the community with space for civic, cultural, educational, leisure, and community activities.

Booking Details and Conditions

Prior to contacting CLMA for room booking, please see our Locations and Hours page for our hours of operation, and review our Use of Space Policy for booking details, fee structures, and conditions.

Rooms may be booked for a minimum of two (2) hours and a maximum of eight (8) hours.

Insurance Requirements

All residents, businesses, and community groups looking to book a meeting space at the Library or a facility/grounds rental at Waverley Place require insurance.

You may purchase insurance coverage through the Municipality’s vendor at https://clarington.instantriskcoverage.com/login, or use your own insurance. If you would like to use your own insurance, please fill out the Certificate of Insurance Coverage form (available as part of our Use of Space Policy), and return it to us.

Exam Proctoring

CLMA supports our community members in their educational and professional endeavours. We offer exam proctoring for students enrolled in distance education, online learning, and professional certification programs.

As the authorized representative of the aforementioned group, I agree to indemnify and save harmless the Library against any and all claims of any nature, kind and costs which may arise out of the group’s use of the facilities. I understand that I am responsible to pay the costs for any loss or damage to any Library property arising out of our occupancy.

Clarington Library, Museums and Archives is the rental agent only and is not participating in or endorsing the program or event covered by the permit use.
